When Stockholm Beauty Week 2019 opened its doors, both trends and launches pervaded an overall theme: SUSTAINABILITY

"We have noticed consumers want more environmentally friendly products," says Beatrice Gull, PR Manager at Depend Cosmetics. The work on sustainability is something Depend itself adopted and last year they launched their environmentally adapted nail polish remover. It qualified both by being Nordic Swan Ecolabelled and winning the Swedish Beauty Awards as the nail product of the year 2018.

The motivation from the Swedish Beauty Awards was:

We can only applaud that the most mundane product in the beauty industry has a well-functioning cousin who does the job at least as well, but which is also both environmentally friendly and fragrance-free.

Depend developed its product with the aim of not having to choose between efficiency and environment. This resulted in a nail polish remover that they felt a great pride in internally and that was received with open arms from the market.

"We have toasted in champagne many times over for this," says Beatrice, smiling.
