The jury have now selected six Nordic Art Insight finalists who now have the chance to win first prize – 100,000 Swedish crowns. Now it's up to you to decide who wins. Cast your vote on www.artnordic.org.
The theme of Nordic Ecolabel's art prize was how to reach a sustainable consumerism that considerate climate and environmental goals. The artist was also required to describe how he or she had produced the work from an environmental point of view. In total, 146 artists competed in the contest.
The jury's motivations:
"The expanded field of composting – the dyeing manifest" by Lina Sofia Lundin, Gothenburg:
"Consistent project which in depth investigates one of textile production's major problems"
"Swedish Office Meat Balls" by Sebastian Mügge, Umeå:
"Manic work created with low intensity related to conceptual land art as well as textile carpets and ornament. All made from garbage material."
"Precious Trash" by Johanna Törnqvist, Gnesta:
"A recycling project which creates reflection and debate about consumption by changing and altering the materials' original function in an interesting way."
"Temporary Marble" by Oskar Jönsson, Copenhagen:
"Classic architectural sculpture made from a material which connects the pop-trash art of the 1960's with high modernism and today's questions regarding material and consumption."
"The never ending story" by Therese Parner, Kista:
"A powerful video / sculpture which portrays environmental politicians' challenge to implement, realize and establish their visions."
"The hysterical accumulation of things on an invisible sphere" by Alvaro Campo, Stockholm:
"An understated and reflective artwork which with small means highlights the contemporary consumption hysteria. The void evoke thoughts on how consumption affects our planet."

The voting will close on August 31st and the winner of the Art prize will be presented at the sustainability conference "Co-create art" in Umeå between September 17th and 19th. The winning entry will also be on display in Umeå, the cultural capital of Europe, throughout 2014.
