1. Linnéa Art Restaurant now carries the Nordic Ecolabel

The residents of Gothenburg can finally enjoy a night of fine dining in a sustainable manner. Linnéa Art restaurant is the first Gothenburg restaurant to be awarded the Nordic Ecolabel.

“Locally produced and organic vegetables have for a long time been an essential part of our profile. Through the Nordic Ecolabel we now have widened our environmental work and now also examine all our purchases more closely”, says Linnéa Art Restaurant CEO, Bengt Sjöström.

Nordic Ecolabel staff has checked that the restaurant now fulfills high-set standards regarding energy consumption and waste recycling. The Nordic Ecolabel logo outside the restaurant entrance also is a guarantee that hazardous chemicals used for cleaning and washing up have been replaced.

“We are indeed proud that Linnéa Art Restaurant, a successful and well-known restaurant, is the first one in Gothenburg to carry the Nordic Ecolabel. Our hope is that more Gothenburg restaurants now will follow Linnéas example”, comments Nordic Ecolabel restaurant administrator, Johan Husberg.

Linnéa opened for business in 1988. After a widely-spread fire the restaurant was completely refurbished and re-opened in March this year with the new name  Linnéa Art Restaurant. The restaurant’s interior has been designed in cooperation with some of the most prestigious glass artists in the world, such as Kosta Boda’s and Orrefors’ Bertil Vallien, Göran Wärff and Kjell Engman.
