Paper modules

The criteria for Nordic Swan Ecolabelled paper products are subdivided and can be found in three separate documents;  the criteria document, the Basic Module and the Chemical Module.

The Basic and Chemical Modules apply for the following product groups:

• Copy and printing paper*
• Disposables for food
• Grease-proof paper
• Printing companies with printed matter*
• Sanitary products
• Tissue paper

There are also other criteria documents refering to the Basic and Chemical Modules:

• Furnitures and fitments*
• Outdoor furniture, playgroud and park equipment*
• Packaging for liquid foods

A new version (3.1) of the Basic module has been published on 21 December 2023. 
It applies to new generations of criteria which have been published after 5 October 2020:
