Welcome to your Nordic Swan Ecolabel home

Obtaining new housing and relocating is no small event in life! There is a lot that has to fall into place; the proper area, a home just right for you and your family, reasonable price level, balcony, views, proximity to neighbours, school and grocery store, garden, bicycle storage – yes, the list can be made very long indeed.

A Nordic Swan Ecolabel building is carefully checked to ensure it is safe for you to live in.

What does ecolabelling of buildings mean?

A Nordic Swan Ecolabel building has been examined and approved from a life cycle perspective. This means a holistic approach to the construction process, the building and its use and management. Building materials and chemical building products have been checked; from the wood used in the roof chairs to the bathroom filler. The building will also live up to tough demands on low energy use.

Nordic Ecolabelling also sets requirements for stimulating the use of renewable energy and green innovations for example. Then a check is made on site before the house is approved.

The requirements are tightened approximately every five years, and the licence holder must then reconsider whether the company will renew its licence. The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the Nordic countries official ecolabel.
