Nordic Swan Ecolabelled Renovation is a good tool to ensure that renovation projects are carried out with strict environmental requirements, good quality assurance and with regard to a good indoor environment.
A Nordic Swan Ecolalabelled Renovation guarantees that the renovated building has:
- Low energy consumption after renovation.
- Good indoor environment and low emissions of hazardous chemicals.
- Survey/environmental analysis before the renovation and that hazardous substances and waste have been properly disposed of.
- Building materials, materials and chemical products meet high environmental and health requirements.
- Promoted reuse of construction products and materials.
The building types that can be Nordic Swan Ecolabelled renovated are single-family houses, multi-family houses, buildings for schools and preschools and office buildings.
Fees valid from 1 January 2019
Application fee including one on-site inspection within the Nordic region 30 000 SEK excl. VAT. Renewal fee (when new criteria are developed) 15 000 SEK excl. VAT. Extension fee (new renovation projects) 15 000 SEK excl. VAT.
License fee (paid per project) 0,15% of renovation costs excl. VAT.
Minimum fee per renovation project is 60 000 SEK excl. VAT.
In a renovation project where the costs surpass 100 million SEK, the licence fee is reduced to 0.05% for the specific amount over the 100 million.
Half the fee is charged when the renovation project starts and will not be repaid should the project not be finalized. The rest is charged when the renovation project is finished.
Minimum fee when there is no active renovation project during the year 20 000 SEK annually excl. VAT.
Fees for on-site inspections
Extra fees for additional inspections might come into question, for example, when visiting suppliers of prefabricated materials:

Information on the latest version of the criteria for renovation
1.2 ⇛ 1.3: Prolongation of the validity of the criteria
The criteria has been been prolonged with 18 month. The new version, 1.3, is valid until 30 June 2023.
1.1 ⇛ 1.2: Adjustment of the criteria
The criteria has been adjusted in requirement O14 (renovation class for Denmark) and requirement O22 (D4, D5 and D6 were excluded as residues from the production of silicone polymers of 1 000 ppm each). The new version, 1.2, is valid until 31 December 2021.

1.0: Adoption of criteria
The Nordic Ecolabelling Board decided to adopt criteria for Renovation on the 9 November 2017.

You are free to use the Nordic Swan Ecolabel in all of your marketing from the date of approval until your licence expires.
